OUR BELIEFS
THE BIBLE:
-We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God. We believe the Bible is the final authority in every area it addresses for every individual Christian, as well as for the church collectively (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; John 10:35).
THE TRINITY:
-We believe there is one God who eternally exists as three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that all things were created by Him and for Him (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:21-22; Matthew 28:19; Colossians 1:16).
GOD THE FATHER:
-We believe in the person of God the Father, an infinite, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalm 90:2, 102:27; John 3:16, 4:24; I Timothy 1:17; Titus 1:3).
GOD THE SON:
-We believe that God the Son became a human being in the person of Jesus Christ. That He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life (for He was without sin), died a substitutionary death for all mankind, was raised from the dead the third day, ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God until His enemies are made His footstool (John 1:1; 14, Matthew 1:18-25; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 10:12-13).
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT:
-We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who was sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. (John 16:8-11; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26, 15:13,16; II Corinthians 3:18; Hebrews 9:14). We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide (John 16:13, 14:16-17, 16:8-11; Romans 8:26). We believe in the Baptism with the Holy Spirit as a distinct and separate experience to that of regeneration, occurring either subsequent to or simultaneous with salvation, evidenced by a greater dynamic in the Christian’s life, enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness. The supreme evidence of the Spirit-filled life is the fruit of the Spirit, love. We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit in regard to the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the instructions given to us (I Corinthians 12-14).
SIN AND SALVATION THROUGH THE WORK OF JESUS CHRIST:
-We believe that God created human beings, male and female, in His own image. He created them sinless, equal in value, dignity and worth (Genesis 1:26-28; Ephesians 5:22-6:4; 1 Timothy 3:1-7). We believe that, as a result of the Fall, all people are sinners by nature and in need of a Savior, and that Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of the world. That salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Him. We believe that all who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved eternally (Romans 3:10; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:18-19; Matthew 1:21; 1 John 4:14; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9).
THE CHURCH:
-We believe there is one church, the body and Bride of Christ, consisting of men and women from every tribe, tongue, people and nation. Christ is the head of His church. We believe that each local congregation is an expression of that universal church. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the Church is a pillar of truth to the world because of the abiding story and presence of Jesus as mediated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that followers of Christ have a sacred duty to identify with the visible church of Jesus Christ and should meet regularly with fellow believers (Eph. 1:22-23; 4:4; 11-17; 5:27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Revelation 5:9; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 16:5; Heb. 10:24, 25).
CHRIST'S RETURN:
-We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is His personal, visible return to Earth and the establishment of His millennial kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless separation of the wicked (Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:11-15). We believe in the Rapture of the Church where all believers will meet the Lord in the air and be taken out of this world prior to the Wrath of God that will come upon the earth (Isaiah 26:20; Matthew 24:29-31; Luke 21:36; Romans 1:18, 5:9; I Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-16, 5:9; II Peter 2:7-9; Revelation 3:10, 5:7-10, 7:13-14).
HEAVEN AND HELL:
-We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell and that all those who place their faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord. Those who reject Jesus’ free gift of salvation will spend eternity separated from the Lord (Psalm 9:17; Matthew 5:3, 5:22, 18:9, 25:31-34; Mark 9:42-49; Luke 12:5; John 3:18; Hebrews 12:23; I Peter 1:4; Revelation 14:10-11, 20:11-15).
WATER BAPTISM AND COMMUNION:
-We believe that Jesus modeled and instructed us to partake in two sacraments, or sacred actions, Water Baptism and Communion. We believe that baptism by immersion in water is an outward sign of an inward work (Matthew 3:13-17; 28:19). We believe in the partaking of Communion of the Lord's Supper by the symbolic use of the bread and juice of the vine (Luke 22:19-20; Acts 2:38; I Corinthians 11:23-26).
TITHES AND OFFERINGS:
-We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His cause is by the giving of tithes and free-will offerings (Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7).
CIVIL GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS:
-We believe that rulers should be upheld at all times except in things opposed to the will and Word of God (Romans 13:1-5). We believe that The Bible has supreme authority over all laws and rulers (2 Timothy 3:15-17). We believe in moderation and that the experience and daily walk of the believer should never lead us into extremes of fanaticism (Philippians 4:5).
MARRIAGE AND GENDER:
-We believe that God created mankind and that He created them biological male and biological female. As such, He created them differently so as to complement and complete each other (Genesis 2). We believe God has ordained marriage and defined it as a sacred covenant relationship between one biological male, one biological female, and God Himself. This is God’s design for the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Anything outside of this original design goes against the word of God. Therefore, we perform marriages in accordance with the Bible consistent with the Old and New Testament (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; I Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11,18-20, 7:1-3,8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 25; I Timothy 1:9-11; 1 Peter 3:7).
RIGHT TO LIFE:
-We believe that all human life is valuable and sacred, and that human life and full personhood begins at conception and continues until death. Therefore, we oppose taking innocent life in all forms, including abortion and euthanasia. (Gen. 1:26-27; Job 31:15; Ps. 22:10; Ps. 127:3-5; Ps. 139:13-16; Jer. 1:5; Acts 17:25).
